What is The Vixen Directory?The Vixen Directory is an industry portal for urban models and those involved in the entertainment profession. More than just a place to find the latest castings, The Vixen Directory is also a networking tool bringing together thousands of models across the country, a stockpile of info providing models with industry news, fashion, tips, and more, a source of entertainment offering industry gossip, events, videos, blogs, contests, and an outlet for creativity by featuring models’ literary work.
The Vixen Directory was created to help aspiring and experienced models interested in urban modeling (urban fashion, eye candy, music videos, etc.) take their career to the next level. Getting into the industry can be difficult and staying there can be even harder, especially when you don’t know where to turn for work, portfolio help, education, and advice among other stressors. The Vixen Directory was designed to aid model talent in locating genuine modeling resources. Casting Directors from major networks and top Talent Agents are constantly trying to find new talent to appear on their shows, mags, websites, events, etc. The Vixen Directory delivers Hollywood Executives along with their casting calls and opportunities directly to its members.
What can The Vixen Directory do for me?The Vixen Directory provides models with casting call listings and a wealth of modeling resources. We publish castings for dozens of cities across the United States and Canada, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Seattle, Vancouver and many more.
The Vixen Directory also gives models a comprehensive listing in our “Vixen Directory”, accessible to thousands of industry professionals including publishers, webmasters, casting directors, management, agencies, promoters, and production companies. As entertainment industry executives use The Vixen Directory to search for undiscovered stars, exposure level is very high, even for aspiring models.

Who can join The Vixen Directory?Model talent interested in urban modeling can join he Vixen Directory. Model talent must have professional photos and have been actively pursuing mdeling work within the last month. The Vixen Directory reserves the right to examine a model’s submitted profile for approval and to disapprove any profile submitted to The Vixen Directory for membership for any reason it see fit. So what does it all cost?Unlike many other casting and directory services, we offer all our basic services entirely free of charge, including your listing in “The Vixen Directory”. Are you an agency? Do you involve yourselves in contract negotiation?The Vixen Directory is not an agency. We do not negotiate contracts or collect fees. For advice in these matters please see our extensive agency list.
How do we protect models?Models are, unfortunately, highly vulnerable to con and scam artists. The Vixen Directory takes particular pride in trying to prevent that.
The Vixen Directory will do its best to check out all casting calls before we publish them. We never simply publish a casting notice as submitted. We ask questions, check references, and refuse to publish calls that seem less than reputable.
For instance, we ask companies to indicate if roles are paid or not; if any roles require nudity; are they seeking union or nonunion actors (and if it's union, under which contract); and so forth. We refuse to publish casting calls for pornography(we define pornography as work requiring sexual acts not simply nude or topless work), or for projects that require exorbitant fees or purchases. (If modest fees are required, we'll include exactly what's expected in the casting notice.)
However, we're not perfect. Despite our best efforts, con artists and creeps occasionally fool us. But we take your complaints seriously. If someone is proven to be a scammer or deliberately misleading in their ads, we never allow that person to advertise with us again. Ever. That's a promise. In extreme cases, The Vixen Directory will also notify authorities. The Vixen Directory will supply the most complete information possible about a project, so you know exactly what to expect at an audition before you attend.
